Notes: This multi-purpose stadium nicknamed "The Joe" was built in mid-eighties to host a displaced Southern League franchise. The facility opened as "The Crown Jewel of the Southern League" almost never happened over a disagreement whether to allow sale of beer. The asymmetrical layout of the field and grandstands is to accommodate the gridiron for college and high school football games. The facility is named for the long-time Huntsville mayor who led efforts to bring the team to town and get the stadium constructed.
