Former Notable Players:
Built from the foundations of the
this two-year phased project took the original stadium, on City
Island, down to the clubhouses. Without missing a single home game
over two seasons, the $45 million stadium rose in the middle of
Susquehanna River replacing the two-decade-old grandstand and bleacher
seats. For the 2010 season a new grandstand, topped with a ring
of suites towered over the historic site of Harrisburg baseball.
Working on the flood-prone island much of the new facility is raised
which creates a boardwalk that encircles the entire stadium. Metro
Bancorp Inc., regional financial services retailer took over the
naming rights in 2009.
