Lawrence-Dumont Stadium

Wichita, Kansas

Lawrence-Dumont Stadium - Wichita, Kansas

Affiliate: None

Year Opened: 1934

Seating Capacity: 6,400

Dimensions:  LF 344

Notes: Lawrence-Dumont Stadium is probably better known for the amateur baseball played during the National Baseball Congress tournament, than any of the professional baseball franchises which have called it home. Opened as Lawrence Athletic Field, it was named after Robert Lawrence, a leader in early Wichita.  It took on the current name in 1972 when tribute was paid to Hap Dumont, the founder of the NBC. A series of renovations over the years have kept the facility contemporary despite being over seventy years old.  An original light tower still remains in use behind the right field stands.
