Former Notable Players: Jack Clark, Bobby Cox, Eric Karros, Bob Knepper, Pedro Martinez, Raul Mondesi. Notes: Initially built as Civilian Conservation Corp project in 1940 for the nearby Malmstrom Air Force Base, Legion Park hosted its first Pioneer League team in 1956. The community-owned ball park has undergone a multi-year, multi-million dollar renovation program. The effort has replaced the aged bleacher seating with contemporary seating, picnic areas, clubhouses and offices, while perserving the original main grandstand. To help fund the renovation the naming rights were sold to Centene Corporation, a leading multi-line healthcare enterprise. |
