Former Notable Players: Adrian Gonzalez, Ian Kinsler, and C.J. Wilson. Notes: Built as part of a Frisco Entertainment and Sports Complex mixed development on the northern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the stadium opened as co-branded Dr Pepper/Seven Up Ballpark. The $22.7 million facility sits alongside an indoor 165 store shopping mall, a 12-story hotel and the training facility for the NHL Dallas Stars. A joint effort of David M. Schwarz Architectural Services and HKS Sports & Entertainment Group has produced one of the most unique stadiums among today's facilities. While retaining the traditional seating bowl around the playing the field, a series of pavilions, housing the suites, concession stands and press box, ring the outer edge of the seating. In 2006 the Dr Pepper soft drink assumed sole naming rights to the stadium. |
