Former Notable Players: Wade Boggs, Roger Clemens, Carlton Fisk, Nomar Garciaparra, Fred Lynn, and Jim Rice. Notes: Built during the depths of the depression by Pawtucket Mayor Thomas McCoy on a swamp, completion was delayed as the main structure sank into the marshy land. This stadium sat unused by professional baseball for seventeen years during the 1950s and 60s. It has emerged as one of the jewels of the International League as a 1999 renovation combined the original grandstand with baseball's contemporary amenities, to host the 2004 Triple-A All Star Game. |
