Former Notable Players: None Notes: The original WPA-era City Stadium taken down to the foundations and playing field, as the City of Lynchburg undertook an effective, economic multi-year approach to rehabilitate the facility. For about six million dollars, many of the amenities like suites, multiple concession and souvenir stands and individual seats, found at brand new facilities were incorporated into the new City Stadium. In 2004 the playing field was named for W. Calvin Falwell, a local businessman, who spearheaded professional baseball in the region. |
