Chukchansi Park located in downtown Fresno is easily one of the best Minor League stadiums in the country.
The ballpark was constructed in 2002 behind the idea that it will anchor the development of the whole area. Chukchansi Park was built entirely with public money, as the city of Fresno invested $46 million in its development.
The city is still the sole owner of the stadium. The current primary tenants are the Minor Leaguers Fresno Grizzlies under the 30-year lease agreement.
Initially known simply as Grizzlies Stadium, the ballpark changed its name as Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino operated by the Chukchansi Tribe bought the naming rights in 2006.
The stadium has a 10,650 seating capacity and offers great sightlines from every part of the stands.
Chukchansi Stadium was designed by a famous architectural firm Populous who is responsible for some of the most unique ballparks in the country.
With its four-level, three-tiered design, Chukchansi Stadium stands out among the rest of Minor League grounds.
The field-level seating runs from one to another foul pole. The upper-deck seats stretch from the 3rd base to the right field corner. The third tier is reserved for 33 luxury boxes.
Besides baseball, the stadium often hosts soccer, high-school football, motocross events, and live concerts.
