Notes: Home to the Yale University Elis since 1928, Yale Field has seen a who's who of Hall of Famers (Ruth, Gehrig, Williams, and Waner) play there as major leaguers barnstormed through during the first half of the 20th century. It was site of the fabled collegiate pitching duel between future major leaguers Ron Darling (Yale) and Frank Viola (St. John's).  After a facadectomy that left only the stadium walls and roof standing, an Eastern League expansion team moved in with the 1994 season to new grandstands, clubhouse and other contemporary anmenities. The Eastern League franchise moved to Manchester, New Hampshire, while a Can-Am League team moved relocated from Wahconah Park for several years before leaving Yale Field void of professional baseball.
