Notes: Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, this Works Public Administration-built was one of the first all concrete ball parks built in an era when the wooden ball parks frequently burned. Originally built for a tab of $85,000, city fathers hoped a major league team would use the ball park for a spring training facility. Delayed one year by the onset of World War II, the park was complete except for the parking lot, which was a farmer's crop that had yet to be harvested.
