Former Notable Players: Miguel Cabera, Adrian Gonzalez, Matt Holliday, Juan Pierre, and Dontrelle Willis. Notes: The original stadium was built in 1991 to house a relocated Southern League franchise. The current facility was fruits of a two-year, $15 million phased project completed in 2000. The stadium is named after the counties (Franklin, Johnston, Nash, Wake, and Wilson) that provided the financing for the latest evolution which initially grew out of an North Carolina tobacco field. For the 2012, a Carolina League moved in to call Five County Stadium home, as the Southern League franchise relocated to Pensacola, Florida. |
