Wolfson, a local sportsman, owned the local minor league franchise during the 1950s and later served as the South Atlantic League president. In addition to baseball, it was also home to many of Jacksonville's large concerts before the arena built. Elvis Presley was among those who preformed at Wolfson Park. The ballpark, which sat in the shadows of EverBank Field, was demolished in 2002. The stadium was replaced by practice fields for the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars. The Suns moved into the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville located across the parking lot for the 2003 season.
